Sealing a Leak

Lou Plumbing Tips

There are very things that are more stressful than a plumbing emergency. Water damage from a burst or leaking pipe can cause a lot of damage fast. What can you do to help minimize damage when a plumbing emergency happens? Here are a few things you can do during an emergency while you are waiting for a professional to come help.

Most people will not have the tools that are needed to repair a pipe. Don’t panic! There are a few things you probably have around the house that can help. If you have some Teflon tape or epoxy, these items can be used to temporarily seal a damaged pipe. If you don’t have those available, wrap a towel around a pipe and spread more towels over the area to soak up water. In addition, use a bucket or even a pot to catch drips and help protect your floors from damage. The faster you do this, the more you can save your house from water damage. Then, contact us right away so we can help you solve the problem!
